We offer the following in-office surgical dermatology services:
Skin Biopsies
If a suspicious lesion or growth is identified during your exam, a biopsy may be recommended to allow for evaluation by a dermatopathologist and to rule out skin cancer.
Electrodessication and Curettage (ED&C)
For certain types of superficial skin cancers, Dr. Khan may recommend treatment with electrodessication and curettage—a minimally invasive procedure performed in-office that uses a small instrument to scrape away abnormal tissue, followed by gentle cautery to destroy any remaining cancer cells.
Excisions
If a biopsy confirms skin cancer or another condition that requires removal, a surgical excision may be performed under local anesthesia. This procedure is typically quick and performed in-office, with sutures placed and removed in about 7–10 days depending on the site.
Mohs Surgery Referrals
For skin cancers requiring Mohs surgery—a highly specialized, tissue-sparing technique—Dr. Khan will refer you to a trusted local Mohs surgeon. We maintain strong relationships with board-certified Mohs specialists and coordinate care to ensure a seamless experience.
